Two arrested after officers seize crack cocaine and heroin in stop-and-search


Two men have been arrested after officers seized crack cocaine and heroin during a stop-and-search in Tamworth.

We stopped two men on West Street, Kettlebrook, at 1.30pm yesterday (Tuesday 20 February).

We seized around 40 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin as well as cash and a mobile phone.

A 39-year-old man, from Tamworth, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and resisting a constable in the execution of duty.

He has been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

He remains in custody.

The activity follows our ongoing commitment to tackling serious and organised crime and protecting those who are at risk of exploitation through criminals – called Operation Target.

Work is continuing to proactively target the groups responsible for these crimes – including county lines, drug distribution, illegal firearms and sexual exploitation.
