Dutch navy intercepts drugs again in Caribbean

THE HAGUE – The navy ship Zr.Ms. Holland has intercepted 235 kilos of cocaine in the Caribbean. The Ministry of Defense reports Thursday that it is the third time in a short time that the Dutch ship could intercept a drug transport.

On the Caribbean Sea, the on-board helicopter encountered a drug boat during a patrol on November 17. After a chase, the boat was stopped. The hundreds of kilos of cocaine were found on board.

The two passengers were from the Dominican Republic. The suspects were apprehended by the US Coast Guard and, along with the contraband, handed over to a US Coast Guard ship for prosecution in the United States.

At the end of October, the ship also managed to intercept 2 drug transports.
