£5.8 million worth of drugs seized in Kirklees police raid


West Yorkshire Police have seized £5.8 million worth of drugs from a property in Kirklees.

The seizure took place on The Crescent in Dewsbury

The Class A drugs were taken from a property in Ravensthorpe, Dewsbury. A 22-year-old woman was also arrested at the scene.

Officers from the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit attended the scene on The Crescent on the afternoon of November 10. The recovered drugs are believed to be cocaine.

A 22-year-old man from Thornhill Lees, Dewsbury was also arrested in connection with the incident.

West Yorkshire Police said: “Class A drugs with an estimated value of £5.8million have been seized by police from a property in Ravensthorpe, Dewsbury.

“Officers from the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit (YH ROCU) attended a property at The Crescent on Thursday afternoon (10/11/22) and arrested a 22-year-old woman on suspicion of drugs offences.

“A subsequent search uncovered drugs, believed to be cocaine, at the premises.

“A 22-year-old male from Thornhill Lees, Dewsbury, was also arrested in connection with the incident. Both have been charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs and remanded into custody.”
