Searches in Etten-Leur: three arrested for importing 2.5 tons of cocaine


The police arrested three suspects aged 40, 44 and 64 on Tuesday on suspicion of importing 2,500 kilos of cocaine, which was found in containers in early 2020.

The searches took place in four homes, two garages and a commercial building in Etten-Leur. During the searches, the detectives found, among other things, three firearms, ammunition, approximately one kilogram of synthetic drugs, raw materials for the production of synthetic drugs and various stolen goods.

The police also seized thousands of euros in cash, expensive watches and clothing, various laptops, telephones and other data carriers. Employees of the Tax Authorities, Customs and the municipalities involved were also present at the action, led by the National Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The three suspects have been brought before the examining magistrate of the court in Zwolle.
