Belgian (24) arrested in Germany with 70,000 ecstasy pills in car


A 24-year-old man from Belgium was arrested by German customs on Tuesday 22 March with more than 30 kilos of ecstasy pills in his car.

The street value of the party is estimated by the German police at more than 550,000 euros. After the driver of a car coming from the Netherlands wanted to evade customs control at Salzbergen, customs officers on the highway gave chase.

Speeds were reached of more than 200 kilometers per hour and the 24-year-old Belgian overtook in the right lane. The man was eventually arrested in Rheine.

In the trunk of his car, a weekend bag and a backpack were found with almost 70,000 ecstasy pills with a total weight of more than 30 kilos. Essen’s customs department, located in Nordhorn, is in charge of the investigation.
