Guns, drugs and more than $130,000 in cash seized in Gatineau raid


Gatineau police executed search warrants on an address on Du Barry Street, a rented storage unit on Saint-Louis Street and a car alleged to have been used for illegal activities, the force said in a release Thursday.

The raids wrapped up an investigation lasting several weeks that was launched based on information from the public, police said.

A 32-year-old man faces charges related to possession and trafficking of illegal substances and illicit cannabis, police said. Firearms charges have been filed with prosecutors.

The guns seized included a loaded .357 calibre revolver, a loaded .30-30 calibre rifle, a loaded .308 calibre rifle, a 12-gauge sawed-off shotgun, a Taser, four air guns, various ammunition and pepper spray.

The drugs also included 143 grams of hashish, 192 grams of cannabis, 54.1 grams of crack, 59.9 grams of psilocybin, 41.9 grams of crystal meth, 473 ml of hydrocodone syrup, 156 Cialis tablets and a syringe filled with an as yet unidentified liquid.

Other items seized include drug trafficking packaging, six cellphones and a Mercedes-Benz valued at about $7,500.
