330 kg of drugs seized and 200 thousand bushes of drug plants destroyed in the Turkestan region

TURKESTAN. KAZINFORM – 330 kg of drugs were seized, another 200,000 bushes of drug plants were destroyed in the Turkestan region, Kazinform reports with reference to Polisia.kz.

The policemen of the Turkestan region summed up the results of the operational and preventive measures “Karasora-2022”, which was carried out for 5 months.

During the PKO, the department for combating drug crime of the police department of the Turkestan region, together with city and district departments, revealed 111 drug crimes. Of these, 8 facts of sale and 8 facts of possession of drugs on an especially large scale, 57 drug crops and 35 facts of drug smuggling. 329.4 kg of narcotic drugs, more than 72 tons of precursors (sulfuric and hydrochloric acids), 518 psychotropic drugs were seized from illegal circulation.

During the event, more than 200 thousand bushes of drug-containing plants were eliminated. During an aerial overflight of the territory, aerial reconnaissance was carried out by a National Guard helicopter in the areas of possible places for planting narcotic plants. 7 drug crops were identified and 6 suspects were detained.

As part of the Karasora-2022 OPM, 202 suspects were detained on drug-related facts. Police officers, together with representatives of other departments, organized 94 preventive measures against drug addiction. More than 35 thousand schoolchildren and students took part in them.
