Three consignments of cocaine caught for the Netherlands and Belgium

Three consignments of cocaine were seized this week in South and Central America that should have been bound for ports in the Netherlands and Belgium. On Tuesday, the Colombian Public Prosecutor’s Office reported the seizure of almost two tons of cocaine that the Clan del Golfo wanted to send to the Netherlands in a shipment of bananas.

Amsterdam

After information was received from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), a truck bound for the port area of ​​Cartagena de Indias was intercepted. After a search, 1,950 kilos of cocaine were found among the bananas packed in boxes. The destination of the shipment was the port of Amsterdam.

Santa Marta

Three consignments were seized in the Colombian port city of Santa Marta, of which one of those shipments was clearly destined for the port of Antwerp. 461 kilos of cocaine were found in a container of fruit. The other lots were 109 kilos and 110 kilos.

Costa Rica

In the container port of Moín in Limón, on the east coast of Costa Rica, 631 kilos of cocaine was seized by the drug police on Sunday. A 36-year-old man from Costa Rica was arrested as a result. He was the driver of the truck with which the container had entered the port area.

The final destination of the container was Antwerp or the Netherlands.
