Three arrested, over $200,000 in drugs seized in Gibson investigation, police say

Three men in Gibson were arrested Monday after police said they found more than $200,000 in drugs and multiple weapons in their possession.

Harold Johnson Sr., 60, Harold Johnson Jr., 26, both of Gibson, and Kenneth Johnson, 61, of Houma, are facing multiple drug and weapons charges, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office said.

Terrebonne narcotics agents and State Police executed a search warrant Monday in the 100 block of Oak Forest Drive in Gibson, authorities said. Police encountered the three suspects during the search and took them into custody without incident.

The search turned up multiple guns, $265,000 in drugs and $15,700 in cash, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Police found over 2.3 pounds of marijuana, 23 grams of heroin, 1 pound of methamphetamine, 143 grams of powder cocaine, 5 grams of crack cocaine, over 5,000 ecstasy pills, 18 marijuana plants and other assorted pills.

Narcotics agents also found several handguns, revolvers, shotguns and other firearms, police said.

Sheriff Tim Soignet commended deputies and State Police for their efforts.

“Our guys are doing good work and are working hard,” he said. “We’re working with other agencies and try to keep good teamwork so we can help clean up the parish with all the narcotics that are running around. I appreciate their work and their efforts. It makes me proud that we’re doing work like this, especially while working with other agencies.”

The three suspects were booked into the Terrebonne Parish jail, where they are each being held on $500,000 bail.
