A 16-year-old is among victims of multiple alleged attacks across Melbourne this weekend.A 26-year old man is also dead and two other teens are fighting for live, as police investigate a number of separate violent attacks while people packed the city for the Moomba Festival. The heartbroken family of a 16-year-old, who was stabbed to death in the inner-north suburb of Coburg North, say they’re desperate to know what happened to their boy.

Stabbings in Melbourne city

Meanwhile, police continue to investigate the scene of a fatal stabbing in Docklands. Early this morning two men in their twenties from Western Australia were stabbed following a brawl. They were rushed to hospital with upper body injuries, and the 23-year-old couldn’t be saved. One witness told 9News he heard men shouting and then women screaming. “It started to escalate. There had to be 20 odd people,” he said. Hours earlier at Flinders Street Station police were called to a fight.A 15-year-old boy was rushed to Royal Melbourne Hospital with head injuries.

Three male teens from Werribee have been charged with intentionally causing serious injury. A 14-year-old has been remanded in custody.

It follows the stabbing of an 18-year-old man in Federation Square as Moomba celebrations began on Friday night.He remains in a critical condition. Melbourne lord mayor Sally Cap said the violence was “disappointing”.”

It is unacceptable violent behaviour, whenever it happens and wherever it happens,” she said. Victoria Police acting Superintendent Troy Papworth warned people not to head to the city if they wanted to “cause trouble”. “Don’t bother. You will be caught and held accountable,” he said.
