Over $20K in drugs, weapons seized from northwest London apartment

London police have charged two people after seizing a number of weapons and drugs during a property search in the city’s northwest-end.

On Thursday, officers with the London Police Service Guns and Gangs Section, Emergency Response Unit, Canine Unit, and Uniformed Division attended an apartment building in the 600-block of Proudfoot Lane to conduct a search warrant.

Police say they seized over $23,000 worth of drugs, firearms and ammunition including:

• Winchester 12 gauge shotgun
• Remington 870 ‘Super Mag’ sawed-off shotgun
• Six 12 gauge shotgun shells
• Two Conducted Energy Weapons
• 196 grams of suspected cocaine, valued at $19,600
• 27 grams of suspected methamphetamine, valued at $1,890
• Seven suspected fentanyl pills, valued at $560
• Three grams of suspected crack cocaine, valued at $240
•Two grams of suspected heroin, valued at $500
•One gram of suspected fentanyl powder, valued at $250

As a result of the investigation, police have announced charges against two individuals, a 31 and a 32-year-old.

The pair is jointly charged with:

• Five counts of careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
• Two counts of possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm without holding a licence and registration certificate
• Two counts of possessing a firearm other than a restricted or prohibited firearm knowingly not holding a licence
• Two counts of unlicensed possession of a prohibited/restricted weapon
• Four counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
• Two counts of possession of a schedule I substance

The 31-year-old faces two additional charges of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order.

Both of the accused were scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
