Military refuses to sentence for the death of hitman

Infantry Second Lieutenant Jorge Alberto Tadeo Hernández has been held in the prison of Military Camp 1-A of the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena) for 10 years and refuses to be sentenced because, says, the Fifth District Judge in criminal matters of Nuevo León is judging what it does not know.

In a letter addressed to different federal authorities, the military man says that the judge has not taken into account the directive for the integral fight against drug trafficking 2007-2012 established by the Sedena during the administration of Felipe Calderón, in which the commanders were required to of the Army to act against “the enemy”.

“The directive to combat drug trafficking and its intelligent questionnaire are under protection in the court and have not been incorporated as evidence in the record of the criminal case against me, in addition, no legal action has been taken against the Military Public Ministry, attached to the Seventh Military Zone, in Escobedo, Nuevo León, which was part of the investigation folder in 2011, because it unduly favored alleged military witnesses, “he said.

Tadeo Hernández, former commander of a Mixed Operations Base in Nuevo León, is accused of the death of Eduardo González, a Los Zetas hit man, detained in possession of drugs, weapons for the exclusive use of the Army and a stolen vehicle, in the city of Monterrey.

During a patrol in the downtown area of Monterrey, the second lieutenant detained two suspects, among them Eduardo González, in a car with a report of robbery with violence, in which they located 80 cartridges, an AR-15 rifle with chargers, doses of cocaine , cocaine stone and communication devices.

Upon transferring them to be made available to the delegation of the then Attorney General’s Office in Monterrey, Eduardo González suffered cardiac arrest and was taken to a hospital where he died.

For this reason, the Military Public Ministry initiated an investigation that led to their arrest and imprisonment in 2011. “It seems to be a priority to keep those soldiers in jail who did fight crime and who eliminated or captured hitmen who kidnap, steal, rape, kill and disappear citizens ”, he lamented.

Commanded by 21 soldiers from the 22nd Infantry Battalion and the Nuevo León police, Tadeo Hernández commanded the capture of Juan Carlos Olivera Acosta, El Sonrics, head of Los Zetas.

The officer has sent his case to the National Defense Commission of the Senate, the Chamber of Deputies, the Ministry of the Interior and the National Human Rights Commission, without obtaining a response to his case so far.
