Hydroponic marijuana, firearms seized in south Laredo raid

A tip to Laredo Crime Stoppers resulted in the seizure of hydroponic marijuana, two firearms and ammo, authorities said.

Laredo police received information about a residence in the 15000 block of U.S. 83 used as a distribution point for narcotics. LPD’s Narcotics and Vice Unit along with the Drug Enforcement Administration raided the home and discovered 30 bags of hydroponic marijuana.

The contraband weighed 150 pounds and had an estimated street value of $180,000. Police also seized a black Colt 38 Super 9mm handgun, a black Glock 17 9mm, assorted ammo and drug paraphernalia.

An investigation is underway.
