Hunting knife and crack stash seized during drug raid
Police released a picture of a weapon recovered during drug raids in the Bootle area
A large hunting knife and haul of crack cocaine was seized after a 37-year-old man was arrested in Bootle.
Police arrested the man yesterday ( Wednesday) evening after officers observed ‘suspicious circumstances.’ When he was searched the man was found to be in possession of a substance thought to be heroin.
Officers then carried out a search of a ‘linked property’ in the Bootle area when they discovered a large hunting knife and 30 wraps of suspected crack cocaine. Earlier in the day police had dealt with two men in relation to drug possession offences.
They were both dealt with through an out of court disposal, which is a type of adult caution. Police said the 37-year-old man arrested on suspicion of drug supply offences was set to be questioned by officers.
Police also carried out open land searches in the Bootle area when they recovered a number of weapons. Officers also provided reassurance to members of the local community.
A spokesperson for the force said: “If you have any information that may be of assistance to our ongoing efforts to disrupt serious and organised crime in the area please get in touch via email, 101 or CrimeStoppers.”
