An alleged conman facing multiple serious fraud charges has had his conditions in prison changed while he awaits his next court date.

Alleged conman Peter Foster has been placed in isolation at a Brisbane prison while awaiting his next court appearance.

Mr Foster is charged with multiple counts of fraud relating to an alleged multi-million dollar bitcoin scam alleged to have taken place on the Gold Coast.

During a brief mention at Brisbane Arrests Court on Tuesday, Mr Foster’s lawyer Chris Hannay said his client had been placed in isolation at Brisbane Correctional Centre.

“He’s having further difficulties obviously,” Mr Hannay said.

Mr Hannay said he was seeking material from the arresting officer and they would be applying for a committal date at the next court appearance.

The court was told the material related to downloads on Mr Foster’s computer in his possession when he was arrested at a Victorian vineyard in December last year.

Mr Foster will return to court on February 14.

He has been charged with five counts of fraud, two counts of obtaining and dealing with identification information and one count of using a false record.

Police allege in court documents Mr Foster dishonestly induced a man known as Konstantinos Stylianopolous to deliver digital currency and US currency bank credits to a company known as Sports Predictions Trading on multiple occasions between April 2019 and January 2020.

The frauds are alleged to have taken place while he was living on the Gold Coast.
