Dutchman transported drug market stall to Germany

On Tuesday afternoon, a 58-year-old Dutchman was arrested just across the border in Germany with large amounts of drugs of all kinds, including cocaine and LSD trips. The arrest was made at 5.20 pm by a joint team of the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee and the German police on the A3 (A12 in the Netherlands) at the Kranekamp parking lot.

The Dutchman was checked when he was on his way in a Peugeot Partner with a Dutch registration. When asked, the man said that he was on his way to Düsseldorf for work. During the inspection, officials noticed that the bottom of the luggage compartment looked unusual.

Closer examination revealed that the car was carrying 11.62 kilograms of cocaine, 10,000 LSD trips, 11.84 kilograms of amphetamine and 10.0 kilograms of crystal meth. There was also 10.72 kilograms of a brown hard substance in the car, which is not yet known as to what it concerns.

There was a hidden space in the bottom of the van. The Dutchman was subsequently arrested on the spot and transferred to the federal police station in Kleve.

At the request of the German Public Prosecution Service, the suspect will be brought before the examining magistrate on Wednesday. The German police estimate the street value of the drugs at 1.8 million euros.
