She was attacked near the flyover above the A338, between around 1.30am and 1.45am.

CCTV near the scene shows a black man wearing a thick navy jacket, blue jeans and trainers.

The offender is thought to have made off on foot in the direction of Lansdowne, according to the victim.

The teenager was then helped by a man who asked if she was all right and walked with her to the nearby Bournemouth Travel Interchange.

She then met someone who had arrived by coach.

Detective Inspector Mark Jenkins, of Dorset Police’s Major Crime Investigation Team, said: “We have been carrying out detailed inquiries into this incident and specialist officers have been supporting the victim.

“We have recently been able to obtain further details from her and are releasing CCTV images of a man we would like to identify as part of our investigation. I would urge anyone who recognizes him to please contact Dorset Police immediately.

“I would also like to speak to the man who came to the aid of the victim following the incident and would urge him to come forward as I believe he may hold vital information to assist the investigation.

“Finally, I would ask any motorists who were traveling along Lansdowne Road or Beechey Road during the relevant time frame, as well as residents with home CCTV or doorbell cameras, to please check their footage for anything that might assist our inquiries.”
