7.5 years in prison for drug labs in Brabant and Zeeland

On Monday, the court in Den Bosch sentenced 52-year-old Raymond H. from Boxtel to 7.5 years in prison. He was part of a criminal organization that was involved in a drug lab in Esch (near Boxtel) and in a lab under construction in Rilland in Zeeland. H. also had ecstasy and amphetamine oil in his possession.

The man came into the picture with the police after he met a suspect in another criminal case. After further investigation, he also became a suspect himself, the police placed a beacon under the Boxtelaar’s car and tapped his telephone.
Ecstasy and speed

After the police heard over the tap that Raymond H. wanted to dismantle a drug lab, the police found a drug lab in the basement of the man’s then home in Esch in July 2019. Ecstasy and amphetamines have been produced in that lab since October 2018.

Later that month, the police found several goods and raw materials in the barn and in a house in Rilland that could be used for the production of ecstasy. This lab was not yet in operation, but according to the court it could be put into use quickly.
Plenty of proof

The court ignores the suspect’s statement that he was blackmailed and that he made his cellar available under pressure. According to the court, all evidence shows that H. worked as a laboratory technician, directed people, made purchases and even had the authority to end production in the cellar.

There was also close and conscious cooperation between the suspect and other involved parties. Those co-defendants were previously convicted for their involvement.

According to the court, the criminal organization behind the drug labs in Esch and Rilland was led by Paul G., the former son-in-law of No Surrender founder Klaas Otto.
Higher penalty

The public prosecutor demanded a prison sentence of 6.5 years for Boxtelaar Raymond H. The court comes to a higher sentence of 7.5 years. In Esch there were two working and professional drug labs because ecstasy and then amphetamine were made at that location.

According to the court, this involved a considerable period and (in view of the amount of waste products) probably a very large amount of ecstasy and amphetamine.
‘Cooperating foreman’

In addition, the suspect contributed to a drug lab under construction in Rilland, which was virtually ready for use. The court also takes into account the role of the accused.

He functioned within the organization as a kind of cooperating foreman by carrying out production activities and directing the lab technicians in the lab in Esch. He also maintained close contact with the financiers and performed other services for them.
