670 arrested, P19 million worth of illegal drugs seized in one-day, region-wide operation in CV

CEBU CITY – Operatives arrested 670 suspects and seized illegal drugs worth P19.3 million during a simultaneous, 24-hour regionwide anti-criminality operation, the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO 7) reported.

Brig. Gen. Roque Eduardo Vega, regional director of PRO 7, said the simultaneous operations dubbed as Synchronized Enhanced Managing Police Operations (SEMPO) started at 12:01 a.m. on April 9 and ended at 12:01 a.m. on April 10.

A total of 141 anti-illegal drug operations were conducted, resulting in the arrest of 163 drug personalities and the seizure of 1,913.98 grams of shabu with a Standard Drug Price of P13,015,064.

Also seized were 52,800 grams of marijuana valued at P6,336,000.

In the campaign against illegal gambling, 278 were arrested and P20,186 cash and illegal gambling paraphernalia were confiscated.

Also, 135 operations against loose firearms were conducted, which led to the seizure of 222 firearms and two explosives.

At least 216 wanted persons were arrested during the one-day operation.
